Photographer Profile --Karen Stanford

In the second in my monthly photographer profile I’m featuring my friend, Karen Stanford. Karen and I met during my first go round on Facebook through a mutual friend who has since left Facebook.  Karen is a founding member of an organization called Connecticut Calendar Girlz.  This group produces a yearly calendar that:
showcases the beauty of women as a way to raise money and bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence.

The proceeds go to the Interval House - the state's largest domestic violence organization.

This organization is such a worthy cause.  Everyone should step up and support them.  Domestic violence is a scourge on society and anything we can do to bring attention to it and help people recover from it is a worthy endeavor.  I applaud Karen for finding a way to help those who need it.

Not only is Karen heavily involved in that organization, she is also a photographer in her own right.  We met up in Madison a few years ago to photograph at Hammonasset Beach.  Several of the photos I took when we arranged to meet are in my Hammonasset Gallery.

When we returned from our photo jaunt, I showed her how I edit my photos with batching.  I wrote a column here called:
Photoshop Batching about the topic.

Help her continue to bring attention to this vicious circle of violence.  Support her cause.  Like her page:
Calendar Girlz Facebook Page and share the content she posts.  Domestic Violence is a hidden secret.  Let’s help bring it out into the light and stamp it out.

In the meantime:

Focus on what’s ahead of you.
